Coaching Program Intro

“Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.”
— Leonardo da Vinci

I live by that motto. Simplicity can be applied to anything and everything you do in life. Take this page for example. It’s nothing but a simple page with text of this week’s instructions, and it’s free of distractions.

When it comes to fitness, I’ve found that most diets and workout programs out there try to do too much at once. It’s the reason why a lot of people get nowhere and fail. Or why they progress and regress.

The key to success is keeping things simple, and that’s what my coaching program is all about.

With that, I would like to start out by telling you all my one rule for this program: to come in with an open mind.

The hardest part about the next few weeks won’t be the workouts, or the diet protocols, or the new habits you’ll be developing, or the assignments I’m going to be asking you to do. The hardest part is going to be letting go of ideas that you have “known” to be facts for the longest time. I’m telling you this now because there will be some things I share with you that might contradict what you learned from somewhere (or someone) else. And you know what? It’s perfectly fine if we don’t see eye to eye. I just ask that you ask a lot of questions and that you work hard no matter what.

Here’s What To Do Now

Now that you’ve jumped on board my coaching program, the focus for the next few days will be for me to get to know you better.

This entire week is Week 0, or what I call Onboarding Week.

You will do nothing for the remainder of the week but to train and eat as you normally would, while I take a look at your new-client questionnaire responses. In the next 48-72 hours — after looking at your questionnaire responses — you will receive more details about your program.

Your “Day 1″ will be next Monday (but if you’d like to start as soon as you get your program, feel free).

So before I can get to creating your program, we have to do a little prepping. Go through the following steps below, but do one thing at a time; meaning don’t go to Step #2 unless you’ve finished Step #1.

Step #1: Read my Fitness Simplified Guide

By reading this short guide, you will learn a little bit more about my training and nutrition philosophies. The content in there is basically what my coaching program is all about.

Step #2: Sign up for MyFitnessPal if you don’t have an account yet

This is how you and I will be tracking your nutritional intake. Don’t worry about changing any of the calorie or macronutrient numbers just yet. I’ll be assigning you new numbers based on the information you give me, so just follow the default numbers for now.

Step #3: Take a couple “before” selfies (optional)

One front view and one side view will suffice.

Step #4: Send me your MyFitnessPal profile link and/or your “before” selfies so we can track some data

Click here for instructions on how to find your MyFitnessPal profile link. Don’t feel comfortable sending me pictures? No problem, just keep them saved for your own reference.
