Why do I see so many people working out their forearms nowadays? Every time I go to my gym, I always see someone working out their forearms. Some people even include them in their workout splits. Don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to say that you shouldn’t work them out, but when someone still has a lot of weight to put on or weight to lose I don’t see any reason for them to be working doing isolation exercises on their forearms.
These muscles can easily be worked out indirectly by doing other exercises that work out different muscle groups. Some exercises include:
- Hammer Curls
- Reverse Curls
- Rowing exercises
Notice how most of those are compound lifts? You’ll be working them out indirectly when you do pulling exercises most of them require the help of your forearm muscles. So unless you’ve hit your ideal physique, I wouldn’t worry about your forearms just yet. But if you want to look like Popeye the Sailor Man, go right ahead.
